Editor’s Note:

At Moreno Ranches, we believe in the future. Part of that future is superior genetics and the constant improvement of the Brahman cattle breed through sophisticated animal husbandry technology. Technology is part of that future, a passion for the Brahman breed is part of that future, and so are our youth. As such, we’d like to introduce one of our 2023 international interns, Manuel Nuñez.

Manuel Jose Nuñez Prieto was born on February 01, 2001, in Colonia Los Laureles, Municipality of Olanchito, Department of Yoro, Honduras, Central America.

His father is Aníbal Alberto Nuñez Soto, and his mother is Lizza Minelly Prieto Martinez. He has two brothers and a sister, of which he is the oldest.

Manuel did his elementary School studies at Holy Spirit Bilingual School, where he studied from kindergarten to eighth grade, and his High School studies at college Francisco J Mejia, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in science and Humanities in 2017.

From an early age, Manuel developed a deep passion for agriculture and livestock. As he grew older, that passion became stronger. He began to learn about different farming techniques, from growing fruits and vegetables to raising animals.

Eventually, he decided that he wanted to turn his passion into his career. He enrolled in the Zamorano Agricultural School, where he acquired specialized knowledge in agronomy, farming, and livestock management. During his studies, he had the opportunity to intern on farms and ranches, applying theoretical knowledge in real life and learning from experienced farmers and ranchers.

Finally, after graduating, Manuel wished to embark on his own path in agriculture and livestock farming to establish his own farm, where he can put into practice everything he has learned and experienced such as the challenges and rewards of working in this field. His focus would be on growing organic product and raising animals in a sustainable way, respecting the balance with nature and promoting the health and well-being of my crops and animals.
