Editor’s Note:
At Moreno Ranches, we believe in the future. Part of that future is superior genetics and the constant improvement of the Brahman cattle breed through sophisticated animal husbandry technology. Technology is part of that future, a passion for the Brahman breed is part of that future, and so are our youth. As such, we’d like to introduce one of our 2025 international interns, Angel Villanueva.
Angel Villanueva, a twenty-two-year-old from Jalapa, Guatemala, is an agronomist graduated from the Instituto Adolfo V. Hall in Guatemala. He is currently in his final year of studies in Agricultural Sciences and Production Engineering at the prestigious Zamorano University in Honduras. Additionally, Angel holds the rank of second lieutenant in the infantry reserves.
From a young age, Angel has been deeply connected to the livestock world, a family legacy that has provided him with valuable experience in various areas such as cattle breeding, milking, nutrition, and animal care. His love for livestock has grown over time, becoming an integral part of his life and professional journey.
As a child, he helped his grandfather manage the cattle, which sparked a profound passion for this activity. Thanks to his grandfather, Angel has come to understand that livestock farming is not just a job but a familial love passed down through generations. This deep connection led him to decide to complete his internship at Moreno Ranches, a place where he can continue to cultivate his passion and gain more knowledge about this noble profession.
Angel is a committed and enthusiastic student of livestock production, with a particular interest in genetics for beef cattle. His professional goal is to become an agronomist who possesses comprehensive knowledge about livestock, capable of effectively communicating with his colleagues and making informed decisions. He feels comfortable performing both heavy and delicate tasks, whether using machinery or manual tools with skill. His resilience and adaptability to different work environments are qualities that set him apart, as well as his punctuality, responsibility, and ethics in all his commitments.
In his free time, Angel enjoys moments of reflection while watching sunsets, horseback riding, following PBR (Professional Bull Riders) competitions, reading, staying informed through the news, and working out at the gym.
