Editor’s Note:
At Moreno Ranches, we believe in the future. Part of that future is superior genetics and the constant improvement of the Brahman cattle breed through sophisticated animal husbandry technology. Technology is part of that future, a passion for the Brahman breed is part of that future, and so are our youth. As such, we’d like to introduce one of our new international interns, Einer Morales.
Einer Abviel Morales Quintero was born in the countryside of a small city called Renacimiento, Panama. Einer is 22 years old and studies at the Zamorano University, specializing in agricultural sciences and production in Honduras. He comes from a loving family who taught him to be a hard worker and earn his food every day. Einer is the oldest of four siblings. His parents gave him the best education they could and taught him how to fulfill his family duties at the ranch as well as his academic obligations.
He graduated with an agricultural bachelor’s degree from the IPT Monte Lirio in 2016 after a year of hard work on the ranch. He joined the Zamorano University for its teaching methodology and for the opportunities that studying at the university would generate. After taking the admission exam, the scores he got helped him to get a scholarship to pursue his education.
Einer had a year of hard work on the family ranch consisting of managing the fattening of cattle, breeding cattle, and other small productions such as laying hens and dairy cows. He learned to multitask and find solutions quickly being on the ranch, and found that hard work is not an option but a lifestyle as a rancher. The experience at the ranch made his performance at Zamorano less exhausting than that of other students, but the learning-by-doing teaching method didn’t suit everyone. The teaching method at Zamorano required being a good student but also a hardworking person. The professional training that he received at Zamorano gave him the confidence that he would do a good job at the Moreno Ranches internship.
Einer considers himself a hard-working, responsible, and humble person with many dreams. He likes to give his all to meet the goals assigned to him and learn from people every chance he gets. The opportunity to do an internship in the USA excites him a lot because of the opportunity to learn about technology and forms of production that he hasn’t seen before in addition to learning a beautiful language and culture. He hopes he can learn many things while at Moreno Ranches to apply in the future professional life so that he can achieve his dreams.
Einer really likes livestock, especially the breeding and fattening of animals. As a goal, in a few years he would like to study animal nutrition and genetic improvement so he can improve the production on his family ranch.
Einer’s Goals:
- Learn new techniques of production and genetic improvement in the cattle sector.
- Gain real-work experience with a good quality job.
- Enrich English skills and learn more about the culture of The United States.
