Editor’s Note:
At Moreno Ranches, we believe in the future. Part of that future is superior genetics and the constant improvement of the Brahman cattle breed through sophisticated animal husbandry technology. Technology is part of that future, a passion for the Brahman breed is part of that future, and so are our youth. As such, we’d like to introduce one of our 2026 international interns, Carlos Moya.
Carlos Moya is a 20-year-old agronomy student from Quito, Ecuador, currently in his third year at Zamorano University. Raised in a humble family, Carlos grew up learning the importance of respect, responsibility, and honesty—values that continue to guide both his personal life and professional goals.
His upbringing in the countryside, surrounded by nature and daily agricultural work, played a key role in shaping his character and sparking his interest in agriculture. Spending much of his childhood at his family’s shrimp farm further strengthened his connection to the agricultural sector and fueled his desire to pursue a career in this field.
Prior to attending Zamorano, Carlos studied at Unidad Educativa Bilingüe Ángel Polibio Chaves, where he developed a strong sense of discipline and work ethic. During his time at Zamorano University, he has discovered a particular passion for livestock management and production, an area that continues to motivate him to expand his knowledge and improve his skills through hands-on learning.
Carlos is driven by the goal of using his education to support his family and contribute positively to the lives of those around him. Outside of his studies, he enjoys staying active, playing sports, and spending time outdoors. Family and friends are central to his life, and he values the moments shared with them.
Guided by his Catholic faith, Carlos strives to grow each day as both a person and a professional, working diligently toward his dreams while remaining grounded in the values that have shaped him from the beginning.
