Editor’s Note:
At Moreno Ranches, we believe in the future. Part of that future is superior genetics and the constant improvement of the Brahman cattle breed through sophisticated animal husbandry technology. Technology is part of that future, a passion for the Brahman breed is part of that future, and so are our youth. As such, we’d like to introduce one of our 2026 international interns, Christopher Guevara.
Christopher Hernán Guevara Salgado was born on January 2, 2005, in Comayagua, Honduras, and raised in the humble and peaceful village of Las Huertas, located in the municipality of San Pedro de Tutule in the department of La Paz. Growing up in a rural environment surrounded by nature shaped his appreciation for countryside life and instilled in him the values of hard work, perseverance, and responsibility. From an early age, Christopher learned that success is not given but earned through effort, discipline, and a positive attitude.
He is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Production Science at Zamorano University, one of the most prestigious agricultural institutions in Latin America, where he is now in his third year of studies. Zamorano’s “learning by doing” philosophy has played a transformative role in his development, allowing him to gain both technical knowledge and hands-on experience in crop and livestock production, animal handling, and sustainable agricultural practices. These experiences have strengthened his passion for agriculture and confirmed his commitment to dedicating his career to this essential sector.
Working with animals has always been one of Christopher’s greatest passions. He is particularly interested in livestock management, feeding systems, and animal health, driven by the challenge of improving productivity while promoting animal welfare. He is also motivated by the role of technology and innovation in making agricultural systems more efficient and environmentally sustainable. His deep connection to the countryside continues to inspire him to become a professional capable of making a meaningful impact.
Christopher describes himself as enthusiastic, disciplined, hardworking, and responsible. He approaches challenges with determination and views them as opportunities for growth. Guided by the values of discipline, humility, and honesty, he believes these principles are fundamental not only to professional success but also to building strong relationships and earning the trust of others.
His greatest aspiration is to become an agent of change in Honduras’s agricultural sector. Christopher dreams of contributing to rural development by supporting small producers, promoting sustainable production practices, and strengthening food security for future generations. He hopes to apply the knowledge and experience gained at Zamorano to drive innovation, environmental awareness, and social responsibility within agriculture.
Looking ahead, Christopher envisions himself as a professional committed not only to personal success but also to the growth and well-being of others. He aims to honor his roots by giving back to the communities that shaped him and inspiring young people from rural areas to believe in education, hard work, and agriculture as a pathway to progress.
